by Marie Habib

Jerry Inzerillo is a celebrated figure in the hospitality industry, renowned for his visionary leadership and transformative contributions over a career spanning five decades.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, into a family of bakers, his journey began humbly as a 13-year-old busboy navigating the bustling streets of New York City. Driven by curiosity and ambition, Inzerillo pursued education and professional growth that would ultimately propel him to the global stage.

After honing his skills and earning recognition in the U.S., Jerry transitioned to leadership roles in prestigious organizations, including Kerzner International and IMG Artists, where he redefined the standards of luxury hospitality and cultural programming. This international experience set the foundation for his move to the Middle East, where his impact would reach new heights.

In 2018, Inzerillo was appointed the founding CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) in Saudi Arabia. Tasked with transforming Diriyah into a global cultural and tourism hub, he has overseen the $63.2 billion giga-project, a cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030. The project, centered around the historic At-Turaif UNESCO World Heritage Site, reflects his passion for blending cultural preservation with modern innovation.

Jerry’s journey from New York City to the Middle East symbolizes a commitment to bridging cultures and creating legacy projects. Today, he is a trusted advisor to global leaders, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, with whom he collaborates closely to redefine the Kingdom’s tourism and hospitality sectors. His work at DGDA emphasizes local engagement, with a majority Saudi workforce and initiatives that highlight the region’s rich heritage.
