EDITION Hotels is not just announcing the opening of its first hotel in the region but it’s introducing a groundbreaking concept that aligns with the Kingdom’s transformative Vision 2030 goals.

This property captures the essence of Jeddah’s unique character and vibrant spirit, making it a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to change.

The Jeddah EDITION, launched on May 2, 2024, is a pivotal development reflecting Saudi Arabia’s ambitions for economic and societal diversification.

Located in Jeddah, the historic gateway to Mecca and a vibrant center for culture and commerce, the hotel embodies “Jeddah Ghair”, a city renowned for its unique approach and embrace of diversity. And, where tradition blends with modernity, EDITION marks a new beginning.

As perceptions of Saudi Arabia shift globally, The Jeddah EDITION stands as a symbol of the Kingdom’s progressive future. With its multicultural ethos and pioneering approach, the hotel is poised to redefine regional hospitality, setting a new standard for growth and prosperity.

The unveiling of The Jeddah EDITION marks a notable collaboration among Marriott International, EDITION Hotels, and the design firm Yabu Pushelberg, guided by the visionary leadership of Sela and its Managing Director, Dr. Rakan Al Harthi. This partnership seamlessly integrates Jeddah’s cultural vibrancy with EDITION’s sophisticated ethos, blending the East’s essence with the West’s innovation to deliver an unmatched hospitality experience.

Josh Fluhr, EDITION’s Senior Vice President and Global Managing Director, reflects on the strategic expansion of the EDITION brand into Saudi Arabia, recognizing this era as a transformative period in the country’s rich history. This initiative, partnered with Dr. Rakan Al Harthi, aims to elevate Jeddah’s luxury hospitality scene.

Strategically situated on the Jeddah Corniche, the Jeddah EDITION is close to cultural hotspots like the Jeddah Art Promenade and significant landmarks such as Al-Balad, a UNESCO Heritage site, and The Red Sea Mall. Designed to mirror a superyacht, the hotel integrates effortlessly with its surroundings, transitioning into a lively marina hub for dining and shopping as evening descends.

Within its landscaped gardens, the hotel spans four stories, each reflecting EDITION’s refined simplicity. It features 52 rooms and 11 suites, including two luxurious Penthouses, along with comprehensive amenities like a rooftop terrace, pool, spa, gym, and two lounges. A highlight is the signature restaurant, led by renowned chef Cédric Vongerichten, which blends French and Asian influences in its cuisine.

Like all EDITION properties, the lobby of The Jeddah EDITION beats with energy, welcoming guests with the hotel’s distinct fragrance. High above, the lobby features a striking 12-meter ceiling, under which an impressive orange acrylic sphere by artist Vincent Leroy dominates, inspired by the renowned sunrises and sunsets of Jeddah.

Next to the lobby, the bright Lobby Lounge transitions smoothly from one inviting area to the next, adorned with two large golden acrylic wooden panel paintings by New York City-based artist John Jackson. These artworks, reflecting the changing light, pay tribute to both Saudi Arabian culture and the memorable sunsets of Jeddah.

The adjacent Lobby Bar is defined by a series of black-and-white photographs by Richard Phibbs. Transforming from a daytime café to an evening social hub, the Lobby Bar offers a selection of drinks, locally roasted coffee, and teas, alongside light snacks and pastries. An outdoor terrace provides uninterrupted views across the Red Sea and the Floating Mosque, featuring a bocce ball court and promoting a continuous flow between indoor and outdoor venues.

Maritime, the hotel’s signature restaurant managed by celebrated chef Cédric Vongerichten, offers a contemporary French-Asian dining experience. Chef Cédric, acclaimed by Zagat as one of the top 30 chefs under 30, brings his extensive experience from global kitchens, including the three-Michelin-starred El Bulli in Spain, to Jeddah. The restaurant’s design complements its culinary offerings. Its terrace, shielded by ancient olive trees and vibrant pink bougainvillea, offers a scenic view over the Red Sea, providing a perfect setting for extended meals transitioning into evening drinks.

Further into the hotel, The Den offers a secluded retreat for cigar enthusiasts, featuring bespoke teal blue velvet banquettes, rich brown armchairs, and whimsical photographs by Christian Vieler in ornate frames. This intimate lounge, unique to the EDITION portfolio, serves custom coffees and non-alcoholic specialties like The Den Sour.

The hotel’s accommodation spans the third and fourth floors, offering 52 rooms and 11 suites designed as serene havens that showcase EDITION’s signature aesthetic. The understated luxury of the rooms is accentuated by bespoke furnishings like inset leather headboards, and each space is equipped with freestanding bathtubs and EDITION’s exclusive Le Labo toiletries.

The Penthouse and Royal Penthouse provide an unmatched level of indulgence. The Penthouse spans 240 sqm and includes a spacious living room, alongside a spectacular dining area and a wrap-around terrace that offers breathtaking views and direct access to the pool deck and The Roof.

The Royal Penthouse, a 600 sqm duplex, features a private elevator, extensive living spaces, and a beautifully landscaped terrace, providing a luxurious residential feel with curated artwork and furnishings that enhance its elegant ambiance.

On the fourth floor, The Roof offers a Mediterranean beach club atmosphere with private lounges set against panoramic views of the Marina, the Jeddah Yacht Club, and the F1 track. This idyllic spot is perfect for enjoying wood-fired dishes and chilled beverages by a sleek pool surrounded by lush cabanas and Mediterranean flora. The Spa and gym on this floor provide a tranquil escape with treatments using Natura Bissé products and an environment designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.

As Saudi Arabia steps into a new era of progress, The Jeddah EDITION emerges as a distinctive landmark that embodies the nation’s Vision 2030, placing this vibrant city firmly on the global map.
